Editor: Mr Alan Dawkins
The Journal
The Section's Journal is The Yorkshire Family Historian, published in March, June, September and December, and issued free to members. It contains a wide range of articles of genealogical interest and social history as well as news about forthcoming events, new members and membership matters in general. In each issue there is also a pull out section of new members' interests and a list of books, fiche and CDs available for purchase from our book stall at meetings, by post or from our web site. Members can have requests for help published in the journal.
We always need articles for the journal and the Editor welcomes submissions from members and non-members.
March 2010 Journal
The front cover shows a Civil War Society re-enactment of the Battle of Naseby at Temple Newsam, Leeds, by Mike Senior.
The March journal brings together an interesting and varied collection of articles including one on the little known Kriegie Edition Newspaper.
Also in this issue: Trevor Wilson asks Who was Sarah Walker Kemp; Judith Marriott comes Full Circle and Alan Cockson throws some light on A Highwayman's Bold Ride. The story of A Tragic Death is told by P M Graham, and Sylvia Barnard needs help identifying a school badge found stuffed between floorboards. Plus all the usual news and reviews.
Items for inclusion in the June 2010 issue should reach the Editor by Friday 30th April.
