Link Scheme

If you need information from a Library or Record Office and are unable to go there yourself, get in touch with the Link Scheme.

We have volunteer members in Yorkshire and most other counties who will undertake this task for you, but we must stress they cannot do blanket research.

Please write to Mrs Margaret Haynes, YAS, Family History Section, Claremont, 23 Clarendon Road, Leeds LS2 9NZ enclosing your request and a S.A.E.

You will be sent the name and address of a volunteer who will visit the Library or Record Centre on your behalf. All expenses are subject to an agreement between yourself and the volunteer. Please note this service is only available to members of the Section.

Photolink Scheme

The Photolink service is for members, by members, the aim being to provide a photo of your request relating to your ancestry.

If you are willing to take photos in your locality your help will be much appreciated and I will coordinate the service and pass on requests.

Digital photography and the use of computers has to be seen as the easiest way of communication, however not everyone has the use of a computer so if photographs are requested to be sent by post then I hope to meet those needs also. There may be a small cost to reimburse any expenditure.

If you are able to help or wish to make a request please send a stamped addressed envelope to the following address:

Mrs Margaret Green, Photolink Coordinator, c/o Family History Section YAS, Claremont, 23 Clarendon Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS2 9NZ, England

Or email: Photolink Coordinator
